Fiverr gets a bad rep for being a cheap platform, and it’s true. A few years ago, I took a shot at Fiverr that ended in nothing but frustration. Starting out on Fiverr is hard for two reasons:
You have to set ridiculously low prices to get your first few customers.
You also have to commit to a fast turnaround time to stand out from the competition.
Between the low pay and the risk of your schedule being disrupted for a last-minute project, it’s not the best marketplace to sell your services.
But…it’s the perfect platform for selling AI-written content!
Getting paid $5 for a project is not very exciting. It’s actually pretty depressing. But if you can complete the project in 5 minutes…that’s a whole different story. Now you’re making $60 an hour!
For side hustlers looking to bring in some extra cashflow, Fiverr is a great marketplace to sell AI-written content that doesn’t take much time to generate.
What Kind of AI Content Can You Sell on Fiverr?
Technically, just about anything goes on Fiverr. There are some gigs where I question the legality…but that’s another issue altogether.
When it comes to generating AI content, I definitely recommend sticking with shortform content. Although you can use AI writing tools to generate longform content like blog posts, that doesn’t mean it’s good writing. In my experience, AI-written longform content is shallow and bland, meaning it is only useful as a foundation for your blog post. It still requires heavy editing to make it valuable content.
So, instead of trying to offer longform content on Fiverr, I suggest sticking with short pieces that you can generate quickly and sell for a low price. I’d recommend trying these three Fiverr gigs:

Another AI writing tool with a free plan is Rytr. With Rytr’s free plan, you can generate 10,000 characters per month, which is about 2,000 words like Copy.AI. Rytr also has an UNLIMITED plan, where you can generate unlimited content for $29/month. Not a bad deal!

Third, you may also want to try out Jasper AI. Jasper has templates for generating all sorts of descriptions, and does an impressive job creating content. Unfortunately, Jasper doesn’t have a free plan, but you can test out the tool using their free trial. The paid plans start at $24/month for 20,000 words.
Once you pick an AI writing tool (or several AI writing tools) and create an account, you can get started! You can use the freeform tool any kind of content. But for the best results, I recommend using the templates. For example, if you select a Product Description template, all you need to do is enter the product name and some background info, and AI will do the rest.

Lastly, edit your descriptions for clarity, depth, and personality. AI-generated content still needs a human touch to be worth using. Otherwise, it’s pretty bland and redundant.
Please do not just send your customers worthless fluff! Edit zealously, and make sure your descriptions are easy to read, concise, optimized for search, and engaging. It only takes a few seconds to generate the content, so the least you can do is spend a few minutes editing.
Sell Your Descriptions on Fiverr
Once you’re ready to start making money ($5 at a time!), set up an account on Fiverr. Make sure to complete and optimize your profile. Fiverr can be competitive, so do everything you can to stand out from competition.
For each service you offer, you will need to set up a separate gig. For example, one gig might be “I create optimized, engaging Pinterest descriptions for skincare brands.” You don’t have to necessarily choose a niche, but the more specific you are, the more your gig will stand out.
When it comes to setting pricing, you might literally have to set your initial price to $5 to get your first few sales. After you get several high reviews, you can start slowly increasing your price.
As I mentioned before, pricing on Fiverr can be ridiculously low. Which is why most content writers and copywriters who know their worth avoid it. But, when you’re generating a new description every few seconds, suddenly $5 a gig doesn’t sound so bad! If you get a steady stream of customers, the money adds up, and there is very little work involved. So if you’re looking for an easy side hustle you can do from your couch, this gig is for you.
